What is a microchip?

A tiny, glass, inert capsule the size of a grain of rice containing an identification number linking you to your pet.
 

How does it work?

If the unthinkable happens and your pet wanders away or is stolen, a vet, rescue centre or dog warden will use a small hand-held scanner to detect the microchip number. This number is registered with petlog, the national central database run by the kennel club. Petlog will confirm your contact details and you will be reunited with your pet.

Under the skin between the shoulder blades.

Your pet is registered for LIFE!

How long will it take to implant the microchip?

Just a few moments! In fact, by the time you complete the petlog registration form your pet will be protected by the latest I.D. technology.

Can all scanners read the micochip?

We use petdect chips, which use the latest technology from Germany (FDX-B) and can be scanned by all ISO scanners, perfect for Pet Travels.

Travel Plans?

No need to leave your pets behind. If you travel abroad your pet must have a microchip in order to comply with regulations.

What age should my pet be?

There is no minium age limit but we would recommend that your pet is a minium of 8-10wks before chipping.
